I traveled to ITF Junior Tour in Kingston, Jamaica to study the footwork of young and upcoming juniors. To my pleasant surprise, I met a player who had great footwork!
Former world number four, Kei Nishikori, had his best performance since returning to the pro tour at the Atlanta Open making the quarterfinals; eventually losing to Taylor Fritz. Unfortunately, his footwork has not changed.
Why is twisting your knees wrong? The simple answer is friction. The result of this twisting and friction with your foot on the ground, is the tension on the ligaments in the ankle and the knees.
